Students in the Fashion Program at San Diego Mesa College incorporated design elements from America's Gilded Age 1890s in their garments. San Diego History Center and the Fashion Program at San Diego Mesa College presented the final garments at their 5th Annual Fashion Redux on March 4th, 2016. I'm so excited to be featured in Fine Magazine's Fashion Redux.
Great Location and an Amazing Team
I had the privilege to work with a fantastic team to create and shoot these four stunning garments. These garments re-creating a modern version of Victorian Tea Party at San Diego's beautiful Glorietta Bay Inn.
Five Critical Elements During Photoshoot
During the fashion photography session, I followed recommendations I have written in the article "Get Casting Jobs with Best Modeling Portfolio".
We have examined all critical elements prior to this session: Vision, Skills, Target, Coach and Brand.
Our vision for the session was to recreate the setting of "The Gilded Age", the last decade of the 19th century. The stunning garments are designed by the students. The location - the setting and style of Glorietta Bay Inn was simply a perfect fit.
We picked talented models with the beauty and skills to project confidence to wear the styled garments, to reflect The Gilded Age" in the photography.
This target category for the portfolio was to achieve fashion photography.
Once I had a vision I had for the photo shoot, I was able to guide and coach the models to achieve the desired poses, even wearing challenging outfits that sometimes challenged the models.
The brand! While each model was very different, their look and personality matched each outfit.
We had a lot of fun - I thoroughly enjoyed working with the team!
