Sun peaking through the clouds, waves gently rolling over the sand of our Southern California beach in Solana Beach with soon-to-be mom was a dream come true maternity photography session.
I loved this photo shoot, because Kellie and I created a great vision for the session:
When Kellie contacted me about doing a photoshoot of her and her husband Andrew, we talked about ideas and the vision for the beach photos.
I loved her enthusiasm about the creative process for this pregnancy photography session. During our conversation I learned that her husband was a surfer and they both loved the water.
She wanted to be part of the sea, to integrate her soon-to-be born baby within the elements of the sand, sea and sun, with a playful twist.
You might be wondering how did we create the vision?
I suggested to put together a Pinterest board for the session, with ideas that she liked and I did the same.
I was loving the direction she wanted to go after seeing her ideas. There were ideas of a surf board, bathing suits and the two of them being in the water. The excitement and ideas were coming together.
Once we had the vision, I knew this would be one fun shoot!
Want to know the best part?
Not all beach-inspired woman are ready to plunge into the cold pacific, but Kellie was ready.
This bikini wearing Momma took the plunge into the cold ocean so we could get these amazing photos of her and her husband on the surf board.
The process leading up to this was full of laughs and screams like "....it's cooooooold" ..... but we got the shot!
Enjoy these stunning photos of Kellie, her baby-bump and Andrew:
She was stunning, beautiful, playful and so in love with her husband and their baby.
They showed their love for the ocean and most importantly the love for each other.
I know that this little baby will have a fun filled life of love and adventures.
